Jamie McCunnie had just played Celtic in the Scottish FA Cup Final when he got a call from Pools boss Danny Wilson, keen to try his luck south of the border he signed up for the 2007/08 season.

McCunnie is a central midfielder who started his began playing at right back, his career at Dundee United where he made his debut at just 17. During his time at Tannadice he clocked up 60 appearances and played for the Scotland U21 team.

Jamie fell out of favour and was transferred to Ross County in 2005, he still featured for the U21 team and was poised to sign for Cardiff City in 2005 but this deal fell through, he eventually signed for Dunfermline Athletic where he played 36 times in 2 seasons before joining Pools.

McCunnie featured heavily in his debut season, primarily in defence but switching to the centre of midfield on occasion. He scored his first goal in the 4-0 thumping of Gillingham in March 2008, curling a inch perfect free kick past the keeper. After failing to hold down a place in his second at the club he was released at the end of the season.
