Having trained with the club for some time, experienced defender Stephen Wright signed a short-term deal with the club in September 2011 as Mick Wadsworth looked to strengthen his defence.
Wright started his career at Liverpool before moving to Sunderland and later Coventry, before spending the 2010/11 season at League One rivals Brentford.
Wright proved adept at playing in both full back positions but shone in the heart of defence alongside Peter Hartley.
However, the departure of Wadsworth as manager was to spell the end of Wright's Pools career. New boss Neale Cooper was eager to spend funds elsewhere and allowed Wright to leave the club when his contract expired in January 2012.
