Young striker James Poole joined Pools on loan from Manchester City in October 2010 after injury ruled a number of the club's strikers out.

Poole made his début in the home draw with Bristol Rovers and went on to make 6 appearances for the club, including starting the FA Cup tie at Vauxhall Motors.

He scored once during his spell at Victoria Park, a late header against league leaders Brighton, and was allowed to return to his parent club at the start of December.

Mick Wadsworth remained keen on the player, continuing to monitor him after his return to Eastlands, and Poole made a permanent switch to Pools at the start of May 2011.
