Report: Hartlepool Win On The Road Again

Hartlepool United's home form must be one of the worst in the country but Mick Wadsworth's side continued their excellent away form with a win at Scunthorpe

Report

Hartlepool United's home form must be one of the worst in the country but Mick Wadsworth's side continued their excellent away form with a win at Scunthorpe.

Andy Rafferty took his place in goal while Paul Murray replaced Ritchie Humphreys in the starting line-up with Evan Horwood returning to his favoured left back position.

It was Pools in control for much of the first half and they made their dominance count when Andy Monkhouse struck midway through the half to give Pools the lead.

Into the second half and Pools doubled their lead when a forward run by Horwood saw the defender whip in a cross at the second time of asking to find the head of Antony Sweeney who fired a header straight into the back of the net.

Another confident performance on the road sees Pools move into tenth position in the League One table ahead of home fixtures against Yeovil Town and Preston North End.
