Amen!

And yes, Walsall is the most local. Funnily enough most people down here see them as a 'non-entity' team, like Coventry; whereas for me they're serious competitors at our level.

Thanks, looking forward to reading and posting.

Welcome to the site neech_manley, why is it that the Town end always think Walsall's keeper Ince is a poolie?
'Incey is a poolie' every time we play them, he dances and laughs though..

Greetings one and all! Heard about this site from my friend who I visited that owns a Pools themed bar on Koh Samui in Thailand - well worth a visit! Better than BBC who decided to let all followers of LEAGUE 2(!!!) know that the promising Denis Behan was at last a Pools player in their update section. Thank God I don't believe in omens...or God for that matter...so thank no-one for anything I guess

Anyhow, that bar proprietor is one of those classic contacts gained by my Dad....who sits next to the contact's Mum and Dad in the Squirrel Knowles stand and hasn't changed his seat in a stupid amount of years....bar a VERY brief flirting with the Millhouse Stand (Though got to see CT in his VERY early days(post Mick Tait....PHEW!!!) - back when we put the dugouts on the other side of the ground for a bit...then put them back...even with Mark McGhee in the fold briefly (why has the entire football world seem to have forgotten about this?! Even on Wikipedia no mention of it))

Anyhow, I've joined as I've enjoyed the banter on the forum and feel it's time to get stuck in as I'm fairly opinionated on my beloved Hartlepool (born and raised County Durham, recently lived in Durham itself for a couple of years before 'moving where the jobs are' to London - to Zone 2 no less!) and will get to as many home/away games as time and finances allow!

Thus far we have earmarked...Opening day MK Dons, 22/08 - Gillingham, 17/10 - Swindon, 31/10 - Brighton, 12/12 - Sarf'end, 9/01/10 - Charlton, 13/02/10 - Sarf'hampton, 27/02/10 - Milwall, 03/04/10 - Leyton Orient, 08/09/10 - Brentford. At this rate, I'll be going to more matches than the average inhabitant of Hartlepool itself! Would love to hear from any fellow London Poolies (especially us 'proper' London Poolies who live close to Central London and not Greater London) to try and create a large travelling brigade to any of the above matches!

Viva the Hangers!

Welcome along Happy Pear!

It works out well for you down saaaarf this season with all the southern teams. We definitely have one London based Poolie on here.

Great to see that word of the site has spread as far as Thailand!

Thank you very much at this late hour - in fact I am returning North for a week tomorrow and am packing my bags as I type!

It does work out well except that as being as easy as it is to get around 'where there be dragons' they know how easy it is and charge you accordingly. Charming!

Keep your eyes on the Official website - I have a couple of my travelling photos to S.E.Asia and Oz/NZ going up soon in Pools colours.

Anyone secretly backing McSweeney for us to get a few cheeky results early doors? What about the travesty at the Vic last year with Collins sent off early doors leading to a spirited yet vain attempt at salvaging a result? The lad Johnson is back there - perhaps they've all been learning to dive like a girl under the slightest bit of pressure in an attempt to top the leagues penalty kick tally! (Rant over)

Up the Pools!

I think McSweeney looks like a very good signing so far. Him and Behan look the pick of the newbies.

Hello fellow Pools fans, let me introduce myself i'm Guillermo i've been following Pools since i was about 8yrs old and my family have been fans since the early days 1908etc when they came to England.
Its very much a Family affair following Pools as my Son, Brother, Sister, Bro-in-laws, Nephews etc all support Pools even though they don't all live in Hartlepool.
Unfortunately my Daughters partner is a Man Utd fan i've tried to disown him and even convert him but so far he's not having any of it. I'm still hopeful of a decent season after the disappointment of the 2-0 defeat by Charlton, the defence was sloppy for both goals but my main worry is the midfield which was brushed aside with ease by Charltons midfield thus we did'nt create much for our Strikers Behan, Boyd and Brown when he came on had to feed of scraps or chase hopeful punts upfield, our strikers paricularly Boyd& Brown need the ball into feet not Head or Chest high with a defender breathing down their necks.
Overall i would say i saw more positives than negatives on Saturday and i'm more confident that we'll have a better time than we did last season.

May I be the first to say welcome along! Pleased to have a fellow Town Ender here. It seems to be mainly those Millhouse types on here. Let's redress the balance...though unfortuntaly I don't have a season ticket anymore due to relocation Southwards!

Oh...and get stuck in!
