Could see us make up some ground on our next two opponents, particularly seeing as though out of the last nine games the three teams, us, Macclesfield and Dover, have played there’s only us with a win. Macclesfield have drawn their three and Dover have drawn one and lost the last two. Surely a good time to play them?

We take max points from both of them and no matter what they do in their preceding game, in the case of Dover and following game, in Macclesfield’s case, we’ll gain some ground on them. Draws won’t really help our cause.

Easier said than done I know but not impossible, plus the second half starts here and we want our points back. Time to do ourselves a favour.

In terms of general form and consistency from the start of the season, it is clear both Dover and Macclesfield are better than us but in football there is always hope. I am hoping we can win these games but in my heart of hearts I am doubting. It would be just like us to beat Macca and then roll over against Dover. Just as likely to lose both but the idea of two wins in a row.......just doesn't feel likely.

They both, hopefully, have hit a bit of a sticky patch and are dropping points, all we want is our own back.

Sorry but in my view we will be lucky to take one point from these games. I have steadfastly maintained since I endured the opening day ‘performance’ against the ferryport that neither the present squad nor the current manager are man enough to take our club back into the EFL at the first attempt.

My opinion was not swayed by the ‘winning run’ nor the odd half- decent performance against true cannon fodder such as Halifax Town. Something has to change and quickly if a realistic promotion push is to be realised cos at the present time it simply ain’t gonna happen.

To paraphrase one of the greats:
