Disappointed not to win this one. Harrison talks about promotion which is what we all want but to get promoted you have to beat good teams when you play them at home. We just don't score enough goals and seem to rely on a solid defence to grind out results but today it didnt work out. We must find a way to score more goals.

Didn’t think they were a good team, physical maybe but definitely not better than us. Just goes to show how much damage a poor start can do. We’re always going to be playing catch up. Three pts today and we would have caught up, as it is we’re no further forward.

If you listened carefully you could hear every beat of the players’ hearts beating out ‘as long as we don’t lose’. If we have any dreams of playing league football again we have to raise our aspirations above “not losing games” against average sides in, currently, good positions. Particularly when they’re down to ten men with injury time to play, ffs.

Looking at the table we gained one point today and it’s actually cost us five league places.

Instead of getting into the top 10, had we held out, we dropped one place. One point is no good in this league, the amount of times we’ve drawn games and stayed still or fallen a place or two is unbelievable. Not a happy bunny at all tonight.

Thank goodness we have progressed since the miserable start to the season and we are now a team that is hard to beat but it is looking more and more as though we are not quite good enough to win enough games to get out of this league.

My impression was that, whilst unfortunate when it materialised, a draw was on balance a fair result. Sutton were well organised and robust in executing their gameplan, an approach aided by yet more inept officials. In recent years this would have been sufficient to see Pools wilt and suffer defeat, thankfully we're made of sterner stuff under Craig Harrison.

Of more concern is the extent of knocks suffered by Rodney and Oates, as their enforced withdrawal was almost certainly the turning point in today's match.

I hadn't realized they had knocks. Rodney is always taken off in the second half when he starts a game, he just doesn't seem to have much stamina. Oates is also either a sub or if he starts he generally gets taken off later in the game: I suspect his fitness is a bit fragile. Hoping and praying they are both fit to face the Trannies.

Simply good enough I'm afraid, Although his players cannot be faulted for their effort and team spirit, Harrison's squad is lacking in quality all over the pitch with the exception of goalkeeper. The forward line is powder puff to say the least, the midfield is lacking in creativity and the defenders are at times in all honesty embarrassing with some of their attempted clearances.

Having said that, one defeat in 11 games shows we hard to beat as is referenced above, however unless a) Harrison sets up the side to win games as opposed to not losing and b) the owners are prepared to throw cash at the side then we must resign ourselves to mid-table mediocrity at best. Anyone who thinks otherwise must be on the waccy baccy.

Four points from these two home games are essential but having thrown two points away against Sutton through shoddy defending at the death, we now need to turn Tranmere over which will be far from easy.
