Just wondering WTF. This supposed ball-winning midfielder signed from Chester in the Summer has not kicked a ball in the Nationwide League and I don't think he played many minutes in the pre-season friendlies. Most seasons we seem to have a "sick note" who takes home wages but rarely appears, is that Luke George? Didnt' he have a medical check out before we agreed to sign him cos it seems he was crocked before he got here. The money we pay him could go on a player who is able to contribute. Any thoughts?

Pools do seem to have a player, every season, who can be described as a " sicknote" - last season it was Rob Jones's role.
As for the medical checks, I wonder who undertook them on Pools' behalf and whether they are still at the club?

Got to agree, a couple of seasons ago we signed a centre half, can't remember his name cos I don't think he kicked a ball in [league] anger. Had a decent reputation, played a few games at that level but at a young age seemed to come here for his last pay day.

Think there are questions marks over the recent players brought in, apart from Loach, non seem up for the fight.

There's a long way to go and they may well play a part, let's wait and see.

I agree mostly Billy though I think Cassidy is decent at this level. In the nightmare first few games he was our only goal threat. He can hold the ball up and is an OK target man. As I say he can do a job for us at this level though not a world beater.

The 2015 / 16 season "sicknote" was Harry Worley, a centre half who had a record of knee problems - think he only made a couple of appearances.
Whilst not overly impressed with the close season signings, it is still early days and there is time for them to come good. Pools, however, do have a history of signing players that fail to live up to expectations - Denis Behan, Chris Llewellyn, Lee Bullock, Steve Howard, to name but a few!
