Only August and this has become a MUST WIN 6 pointer. Win and we'll leapfrog them on goal difference, lose and . . . . . . . Well Conference North here we come

On current form you've got to expect a loss. It will be either 1 nil or 2 nil. We cant score and we can't defend so when we go one down it will simply be a question of if Guisley get a second goal. I don't think they score a lot so hopefully it wont be a hammering although a hammering might speed Harrison's departure. I cant recall a worst time being a Poolie and I have been a fan since 1972.

The formation could be interesting, if Scott Harrison is out injured Magnay still "unwell" and Donnelly away on international duty he is only left with Watson as an almost recognised centre half.

Suspect he'll play 3 4 2 1 ( don't think he's tried that, yet!)
Loach
Featherstone, Watson, Newton
Donaldson, Woods, Hawkins, Deverderics
Franks, Munns
Cassidy

Best hope is for Hurricane Harvey to whizz across the Atlantic and get the game postponed!

To be totally honest, despite having foolishly renewed my season ticket I haven been anywhere near the Vic since the opening game of the season. I missed the Chester game due to work commitments and simply couldn't be arsed to get down to the Vic today. The club have my money but currently do not deserve my time and support - and I had much better things to do today.

I had serious reservations about Craig Harrison's appointment since Day 1 and what I witnessed and heard during and after the Dover game confirmed my fears that the new boss was several pennies short of a shilling and that his close-season recruits were well below what is required even for this truly awful league.

Although i appreciate that Duxbury, Blackedge and their cohorts appear to be to English pro football knowledge what Donald Trump is to commonsense and diplomacy it still beggars belief that of the nigh on 100 applicants for the Pools job they chose this numpty. It is of course nowhere near too late to turn things around this season but something needs to change NOW, not next month, Christmas time or whenever.

The man has already put together one of, if not THE worst squads and subsequent sequence of results in the history of the club. Worse still, although I can only go by what I have read in the media and the fans forums, there does not appear to be even the slightest sign of improvement since that horrendous start against Dover. Surely the owners can see that neither Harrison nor his equally hapless assistant Jenkins are man enough for the task in hand - please do what must be done and bring someone in who knows what he is doing to take the club by the scruff of the neck and drag it out of this mess before it really is too late.

Donaldson should never appear in a pools shirt again, and it will probably be Harrison's last game in charge.

Billy, I am praying you are right about it being Harrison's last game.

If Torquay win today under Moore and we get anything other than a win we've literally bottomed out. Seven without a win, bottom of National league has to see change in manager.

However pools are as pools do, we will wait until the first choice for the vacant post close season, Paul Cox, has got himself a job then we'll release Harrison.

Fail to see anything better than a draw today, players not giving 100%, poor tactician, poor communicator, poor manager. We'll still be bottom two tonight.

For the first time, this season, I can see nothing but a defeat for Pools this afternoon. Can't score, can't defend, totally devoid of passion - outcome is inevitable!

More worryingly the Hartlepool Mail would seem to be knowledgeable of CH being allowed to further "strengthen" the squad in the coming days - given the impact of signings made to date I'm concerned.

Challinor, the Fylde manager talked about Pools being "under pressure" and sometimes players "hide" under these circumstances. He is quoted in the Mail. I think he got it spot on, it seems like the majority of the players are hiding because they have no faith in the manager and little understanding of the tactics they are expected to carry out.

Listened on BBC Tees, didn't sound a good game by any stretch of the imagination but three points surely must be a bit of a confidence boost, which we will need going into the two home games against Maidstone and the high flying Daggers, four points from those two must be viewed as progress.

Appreciate views of any who went!

edit: Daggers, along with Ebbsfleet, are the only unbeaten sides in this division.

Not at the game but thank goodness we have sneaked a win. I guess we found someone worse than us. In some ways it is not ideal because it gives Harrison a stay of execution.

I wasn't at the game either and purposely didn't listen to any commentary. Hence I can't make any comment on the performance.
However, it was a victory and we kept a clean sheet too. Hopefully, this will prove to be a confidence booster for the players and management.

A welcome 3pts but a platform or a plaster?
i.e something to build on or something to temporarily stem the blood flow?

From the highlights they made most of the early exchanges and luckily for us failed to take advantage. Excellent cross into the box , which was again poorly defended, brilliant header and they hit the bar. A few inches lower and once more we're chasing the game.

World class double save from Loach in the second half ensured we kept a clean sheet but we've seen it all before defenders with no anticipation or slow to react.

This league is much much tougher than, i think, we all anticipated and strangely more entertaining than league two. Saying that we need to get back to the less entertaining L2 asap.
