I expect the Pilgrims to be smarting from the Orient defeat midweek and will be determined to get their promotion push back on track. I reckon they will brush us aside 3-0.

Sometimes trying too hard has the adverse effect. No doubt they will be difficult to beat but are not unbeatable, see recent results. It all depends on what Jones puts out. Personally think we'd have more chance with a Hignett eleven, Jones has taken us toward the brink and I seriously doubt he has the ability to prevent us falling.

Lets hope Plymouth have lost their momentum but we have a habit of letting other teams regain their form against us. Agree about Jones.

Don't have much expectation for a result from today's game, another defeat will see Pools dragged further towards the Football League trap door.

With the limited resources available I would go 4 3 3, the defence pretty much picks itself whilst in midfield I'd go with Featherstone, Woods and Hawkins, forward line of Thomas, Oates and Nelson. Tell Oates and Nelson to run themselves into the ground for 60 minutes then replace them with Amond and Alessandra.

Like previous posters I too aren't impressed with Jones and his impact to date; though I guess being fair to the guy he didn't inherit much and was unable, for whatever reason, to do anything in way of recruitment before the Window closed.

If everything goes against us today we could be 3rd bottom by 5pm either on goal difference, shared with a couple of other sides, or clearly on merit.

Best case scenario is we beat them by whatever means and put a little bit of daylight between us and the drop positions. Worst is we get stuffed, Accrington win or draw, Cheltenham win and Notts County or Orient win.

Jones' selection today will be decisive maybe even dangerous. Not confident of this week's hearsay re: Walker at centre half, penalty waiting to happen? No goal scorers on the pitch at the start of the game? Open season on conspiracy theories.

A welcome point though we really need to start picking up wins with the teams around us all starting to show improvement.

Half decent performance from a makeshift eleven really. Not the best group of individuals, technically, on the books but they worked hard and on loads of occasions that's all it has taken from teams around or even below us, they've just worked harder than we did and took a share or all the points.

In the two games we've got points from under Jones, all we have done is worked hard. Nothing more and nothing less, we've probably been the poorer team in both games we have drawn, again technically, but the players worked hard for what they got.

Utterly disappointing to put in a performance like that against second top, get a share of the spoils and still end up third bottom but we can't let that get into the minds of the players. They have to take heart from working hard and putting points on the board, marginal gains.

It must be a long time since we've had a starting XI that weak. Never mind the bench. We really are down to kids and loanees filling out half the team.

A good point, for sure. But this looks like a long uphill battle to me, especially as everyone else is winning down there.

We need to pray that Morecambe and Cambridge win tomorrow.

On a positive note, it is looking like Thomas is showing signs of being back to his old self and Fryer seems a much better keeper than Denton. Fingers crossed we just about have enough ability to finish third bottom but as you rightly say it will be an uphill battle.
