Following on from the recent loses at Newport and Mansfield it can only be assumed that another thrashing awaits Pools on Tuesday night at promotion chasing Luton.
Adding to recent woeful form Pools look likely to be without Donnelly, Amond and Bartlett; who all suffered injuries during Saturday's defeat.

Luton 5 Pools 0
(Hopefully I'm not being too optimistic)

I think 5-0 will be a us getting off lightly. Reserve keeper, one of our better defenders and our only goal threat gone.

Sam Collins

I have been thinking about what the team is up to and this is what I have come up with get rid of Collins he is the only one there that wants the managers job and I believe he is undermining the new manager. We get new players in even new teams but they all go the same way why? because Collins is in the role were he can say or do what he want so we need to get rid of him and then we can start the only other way is to give the managers job to him he is so desperate for.

Some might suggest that Sam Collins came in for one game, shored us up and got us a really important win.

Jones has taken over and we're yet to win, shipping an average of almost three goals a game and we got absolutely gubbed off by far the worst team in the division.

Good point Old Poolie. Maybe professional football in the small town of Hartlepool has finally come to the end of the road or at least, is fast approaching the end. We are in a heck of mess both on and off the field and there is little cause for optimism.

Looks like Dave has heeded my advice NOT to play 4 4 2 (see Mansfield thread) - hopefully the debutants aren't overawed.
Good Luck lads, we need a decent performance if not a positive result.

Think that boot fella might get his wish, by the looks of it Jones is trying to get himself sacked. Theres not a lot of goals in the team he's putting out. However I'm quite hungry and willing to wash down my words with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

Looks like Bartlet is dropped. He's on the bench and the Boro youngster is in goal. Maybe Jones has decided he is not reliable after his performance against Mansfield. It looks like a solid team selection but I can't see us scoring. If all goes well we might scrape a two or three goal defeat which will be a kind of victory in my view.

What exactly was Jones expecting? Fielding two fullbacks and a goalie with the combined age of my newest pair of underpants.

2-0nafter 15 minutes. Cricket score on the cards. I wonder what the the highest score Luton have got against us. I think I'll check it out.

4-1 is our worst result against the Hatters. This will be under threat this evening.

Well we managed 30 minutes without conceding. I wonder what the second half will bring?

Sad that a 3 nil defeat has, almost, become acceptable!
The team, despite Hignett's efforts in summer, is devoid of goals.

Worrying that Bates went off after only 15 minutes, his injuries usually result in an eight week absence, depending on how badly crocked Donnelly is we only have untried kids left to partner Harrison.

I despair of our league status.

Can't score goals and yet we leave the one goalscorer we have on the bench. Sold so many defenders that we are forced to play a kid at full back and a centre midfielder in defence. Absolutely embarrassing stuff.

The chairman flogs half the squad and replaces them with cheap freebies kids. He cannot be defended any more. The pressure need to be put on him now because he's going to take us down or take us out of business.

He is the reverse King Midas. Everything he touches turns to sh**e.

Didnt Jones say that the Mansfield and Luton games would give an indication about our finishing position in the league? Seven goals conceded zero scored and no points gained. That should tell him all he needs to know. We are in the deep deep do do. It is only the poor form of the teams around us that that is propping us up and even they are starting to pick up points.

Now where did I put that Ian Dury and the Blockheads CD?
