Fantasy Football Champion 09/10 and 10/11
Again, wasn't at the game... didn't sound like either team really deserved a win. They sound marginally better 1st half in a very low-tempo game... The first goal was a set piece... RM said that somone switched off... not sure who it was on the reply but think it is a bit harsh... the lads who scores gets up really well... second goal was a sucker punch on the break.

From what Iv read or worst performance this season but positives are... we have a lot of injuries and have got some great results and even on a bad day we still seem to create a couple of chances.

4 wins out of 5, think we all would have took that before the first game kicked-off... if we can hit a similar target from the next 5 games we will be flying

Their first goal came from a corner. They had 2 men free at the back post to head in.

We didn't play until the last 15 minutes when we tried to impersonate Arsenal and pass the ball into the goal. Promising but it'll take time to build enough team understanding to achieve this. What tended to happen was that the final through ball had nobody running onto it.

Ebby Nelson-Addy came on late on for Woods (who hopefully was just being wrapped in cotton-wool rather than badly injured). Nelson-Addy looked generally composed & confident on the ball in an attacking capacity. Didn't see enough to judge his defensive capabilities.

You've hit on two key features of these early season games Edd, i.e. opponents being left unmarked in the box and a tendency to over-pass or attempt to walk the ball into the net. We got away with several examples of the former in the games against Morecambe and Newport which would undoubtedly have been punished by the better sides.

In respect of the latter, you can see countless L1 and L2 keepers beaten every week in the highlights shows by strikers and midfielders smacking the ball early before the opposition keepers can set themselves. No real complaints from me as yet but this squad is defo a case of work in progress of which I'm sure RM is well aware.
