Why has everything gone wrong with the season so far?

Our start to the 2015-6 season has not been what many were hoping for or predicting. So perhaps it's worth having a bit of a post-mortem and looking at what has gone wrong with our start to the season so far.

Defence:
Injuries have played a part. We have been without our first choice goalkeeper, as well as the excellent young Dan Jones and exuberant Jordan Richards. Furthermore, it has been observed that, even before his injury, Harry Worley appeared to be slow. Furthermore Scott Harrison is playing well below his best. Michael Duckworth has been labelled as being incapable of defending. Matthew Bates is playing out of position.

Midfield
Injury to Brad Walker has meant that we have been unable to play our preferred 3-5-2 system and operate with only 3 men in midfield. Carl Magnay is also playing out of position. This has clearly prevented us from dominating in the middle of the park and without doing this, there is little hope of us winning matches.

Forwards
It has been noted that 3 of our 4 forwards are free transfer rejects from other clubs and we therefore clearly cannot expect any sort of quality or goalscoring performances with the current staff.

Formation
Everybody knows nowadays NOT to play 4-3-3. It's an outdated system of a bygone age and to even consider such a formation is inviting trouble.

Management
Our manager has been absent for 2 of our games due to family sickness, leaving planning, team selection & preparation in the hands of Sam Collins. Say no more!

New Squad
It has also been pointed out that, with so many new players, we can't seriously expect the side to gel into a proper cohesive team at this early stage of the season.

All in all therefore, there are plenty of reasons to explain such a poor start. The big question is: dare we hope for any better?

Really good ironing Edd !
Meant irony, don't know anything about ironing - that's Mrs Old's domain.
