Problems accessing Vital Hartlepool

I don't know if it's just me (again) but I'm having big problems accessing Vital Hartlepool at the moment (and not other internet sites). Google Chrome just gets stuck and won't let me open any threads. Mozilla Firefox (which I'm using now instead) is very slow (e.g. as I'm typing there's a bit of a delay before letters appear, threads are slow to load because of 'waing for' various ads to load etc etc).

There's been this problem for ages. Sometimes pages load so slowly that I just log off and go to do something more interesting.

I think you're right that it's to do with advertising, Ed. The more clicks, the higher the revenue for the site?
What ever, it's bleedin' irritating.

Welcomed by a full screen advert today which stuck around for 5-10 seconds (thought I wasn't going to be able to get rid of it) but once past that, I've been able to access the site OK (so far) using Google Chrome.

The site improved slightly after these messages, but now is worse than ever. Don't Vital know anyone who knows anything about IT??

The latest curious thing that the Vital Hartlepool site is doing (or failing to do) concerns the first post on a new extra page of a thread. I've been noticing this a lot on the Predictions thread in particular - but also on the match day threads.

For example, when the first person makes a post on the 2nd (or subsequent) page of a thread, their post is acknowledged on the forums index page - but you can't actually view that new page until a further post has been made to it.

Today the index is telling me that thepooliedoctor has made the most recent post to the Predictions League thread. However, when I try to view that thread, I'm taken to page 16 of the thread and there's no evidence of his post there. There is no link to page 17. If I (or someone else) makes another post, then the pooliedoctor's post would become visible.

It's not the end of the world but it's a bit annoying!
