While a striker may be top of his January shopping list, Hartlepool boss Neale Cooper is taking an interest in defender Jamie Poole

Been around in the lower leagues then! Wonder why a 24yr old would suddenly be considered for a step up to league one level?

Should we not also be looking at midfielder Jim Poole, goalkeeper Jimbo Poole and winger Jimmy Poole?

A former Middlesbrough youngster, Poole has spent much of his career in the non-league with spells at Stokesley, Blyth Spartans, Seaham Red Star, Bedlington Terriers, Consett and Guisborough Town.

If he could not cut the mustard with those teams, don't see how he could step up to the level we are at now.
Is NC trying to 'poole' all his resources.

Couldve swore I posted on this! Apparently not! He didn't do much last night just kicked the ball up the pitch (shock) nothing to get excited about.

We need to start taking stock and walking the walk, so to speak. We have a young man at the club in Darren Holden who, in my humble opinion, could do a decent job in both left sided positions.
Think Cooper might be looking for a no nonsense defender to defend and stop us conceding.

Doesn't seem to have a great pedigree, he's also had unsuccessful trials at a few clubs including Darlo and Gillingham that I didn't mention in the article. However, it's only a reserve game and I don't see any harm in taking a look.

I can't see him being a better option than Holden, even though Barron is not a fan.

Talking to my college lecturer today who teaches the youth team + Luke James and Holden said that it seems that Holden has went downhill since last season.

Surely we have better young defenders at the club. So I can't understand his reasoning about this.

I think your lecturer who teaches the youth team had better button his lip, if he wants to keep his job.

Well if he teaches English, he should loose his job.

See you should teach English at the college. You noticed my deliberate mistake.
