Eifion Shocked About Pools Release
He may have already hooked up with a new club but Eifion Williams is still shocked about his release from Pools last month.
Williams admitted that he wasn't expecting a call from Danny Wilson about being let go 'It was a shock and I wasn't expecting it,
'You're shocked at first but then you realise that you just have to get on with it.' he told the Northern Echo
Eifion scored 6 goals as Pools finshed runners up and he thought that he'd worked hard enough to get a new contract 'I thought I'd been playing well in the run-in and that my work-rate was 100 per cent but these things happen in football.
He believes his new club is stong enough to battle for promotion next year. 'I've won promotion twice with Hartlepool and I want to go for promotion with Wrexham.''
The Welshman has previously been called up to the national team squad but feels that his chance has now gone "John Toshack is clearly bringing through younger players, so I can't see myself getting a chance now,'' he admitted.
