Hartlepool Appoint Harrison As Manager

Hartlepool Appoint Harrison As Manager

On Friday, Hartlepool United confirmed that Craig Harrison had been appointed to the vacant managerial role at the club.

Following League Two relegation in 2016/17 and with the club set for life in the National League next year, The New Saints boss joins up to lead us next year and hopefully to promotion.

The 39 year old is said to have stood out to the club as a 'young, dynamic and ambitious manager' and his record in management was clearly a part of that.

Having represented Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace in his playing days, those were brought to a premature end following a serious leg injury and upon recovery he moved into coaching and management.

He began with Airbus UK Broughton before moving on to Welsh Premier League side The New Saints and in his time with them, they won the Welsh Premier League six times, four Welsh Cups and two Welsh League Cups - also beating Ajax's world record for successive top flight victories (27).

Speaking to the Official Site Chief Executive Pam Duxbury explained.

'I`m looking forward to working with Craig as we embark on a rebuild of the Club. He knows what it takes to succeed and is determined to bring his winning formula to our Club and get us back to where we belong in the Football League. I think fans and players alike will take to him when they see the passion, dedication and ideas that he has to take our Club forward and realise its potential.'
