Harrison In Team Of Midweek (17/3/17)

Hartlepool United are represented in the latest Football League team of midweek that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Scott Harrison in the one nil victory over Cambridge United in midweek at the Abbey Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Harrison was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Hartlepool picked up a first away win since October on Tuesday night, with the three points lifting them nine points clear of the Sky Bet League Two drop zone. The defensive performance at Cambridge United was outstanding, limiting the hosts to one shot on target, and Harrison cleared an effort off the line on a rare occasion when the U's did fashion a chance.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Harrison for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Dean Lyness (Blackpool), Greg Leigh (Bury), Cian Bolger (Fleetwood Town), Scott Harrison (Hartlepool United), Sean McConville (Accrington Stanley), Danny Rose (Portsmouth), James Coppinger (Doncaster Rovers), Filipe Morais (Bolton Wanderers), Lee Erwin (Oldham Athletic), Reuben Reid (Exeter City), Craig Mackail-Smith (Peterborough United).

Manager - Paul Lambert (Wolverhampton Wanderers).
