Wyke In, James Still Wants Out
Young Middlesbrough striker Charlie Wyke is heading back to Victoria Park after a one month loan switch was agreed between the clubs.
The 21 year old spent time with us back in the 2012-13 season, making 26 appearances and scoring twice.
Last season he spent three months with Wimbledon, making 17 appearances for them, scoring twice also.
He has been handed the No 24 shirt for his time with us and has joined in time to potentially make his second debut for us, against Wimbledon this weekend.
In other news, manager Colin Cooper has confirmed that striker Luke James has now handed in a second formal transfer request.
The 19 year old handed in his first request of this dance on Monday having attracted interest from Peterborough, and with the club simply 'acknowledging it' he obviously feels the need to do it again.
Disappointing for the former academy product who has 97 appearances to his name and a return of 20 goals.
Speaking briefly to the BBC, Coops said.
'As a contracted player to Hartlepool I expected him to play, which I give him credit for. But then he handed in a second transfer request so that's where we are, it's something I will speak with him about.'
With Peterborough being reportedly interested, their manager Darren Ferguson has admitted that James is a target but any deal is a 'good bit off' adding that both clubs in talks so far as 'still a good bit apart' on our respective valuations of the player.
