James Staying For Now!

James Staying For Now!

When Luke James signed his new contract I wasn't being pessimistic or negative but I'd said at that time that I didn't think it meant he would be at the Vic for the duration of it.

However long it is, as we didn't reveal the length of the extension.

I didn't think that we would lose him less than a week into the new season though with reports saying that Peterborough, having signed Jack Baldwin in January, had offered £750,000 for the striker!

Coops has told sportmail that he's had a phone conversation with Darren Ferguson with his counterpart telling him that he wasn't looking to make an offer for the 19 year old at this stage but Coops did confirm that there has been interest in James, which isn't new anyway is it?

It will be interesting to see what the next three weeks or so bring before the summer transfer window closes and if James will still be at the Vic or not? We could also do with another player or two ourselves.

Last season's Middlesbrough loanee defender Christian Burgess and their young striker Bradley Fewster, along with Sunderland attackers Mikael Mandron and Duncan Watmore are all being linked with Hartlepool with Coops 'monitoring' their situations.
