Bradford 1-1 Hartlepool
Hartlepool were held to a one all draw at The Coral Windows Stadium in our final pre season encounter before the League Two campaign kicks off.
Manager Colin Cooper selected a strong side for our final run out before the season kicks off next weekend, but did save a place for trialist Tommy Miller who missed the game against Middlesbrough with a hamstring problem.
Bradford started the brighter team on the day and Scott Flinders had to be awake in the first couple of minutes to stop them from taking the lead, but we found our feet in the match and started to create chances of our own.
Unfortunately for us just as we were really finding some rhythm a ball hit the back of Sam Collins' head and after some lengthy treatment the decision was made to take him off, replaced by Darren Holden.
It took us a little bit to find our run again, with chances falling to them and the first half ended goalless.
The second period was much the same in terms of the ebb and flow of chances to both sides, and having come close a few times, Brad Walker finally broke the deadlock with a forceful effort from 20 odd yards.
We held the advantage for about as long as we celebrated it, and Bradford went up the other end and almost instantly levelled the scores again.
We ended the match stronger, but couldn't fashion a winning chance, although we again needed Flinders two minutes from time to secure us the draw as they almost snatched it.
