No Midfielder Return

One of the plenty of names that's been linked with the Vic, for some what would be a Vic return, was Michael Brown.

This isn't going to be happening though with his signing for Port Vale confirmed on Friday.

Brown's vastly experienced, which is something we really need in midfield, and being Hartlepool born would have give him an edge and even at 37 years old I think his combative playing style could have worked well for us.

It wasn't to be so Coops has to look elsewhere, maybe a combined coaching role and the fact that Port Vale play in League 1 swayed him to spent what could be the final season of his playing career at Vale Park.

Jonathan Greening and David Prutton continue to be linked with moves to the Vic, Prutton given a slightly younger age and being more mobile, perhaps more affordable too, would be the more likely of the two I'd think.
