Nearney Signs First Professional Contract
Josh Nearney has become the latest in a string on players to sign a contract to keep them at the Vic next season.
Unlike others before him though his contract is a first professional one with Hartlepool.
Originally with Middlesbrough the defender came to the Vic a couple of years ago as a youth player as well as playing in the reserve side last season but will now be looking to make his first team debut.
Nearney was informed of the clubs decision to give him a professional contract at the end of last season, with the 18 year old now signing this and telling the official website that he's looking forward to this chance and being part of Coops's plans next season.
'I got told at the end of March that I was getting a professional deal and it's a dream come true for me.
'It's just amazing and it's difficult to put it in to words; I've been playing football since I was about five and it's unbelievable that I can finally class myself as a professional footballer.
'I can't wait to get started now; I've been doing work over the summer but I want to come back really fit and try and challenge for the First Team and my professional debut.'
As with virtually every contract signed by players this summer no details of it's length have been revealed but I would think it's a one year deal with an option?
