Hawkins Signs New Pools Deal

Hawkins Signs New Pools Deal

Lewis Hawkins has become the latest in a string on players to commit their futures to Hartlepool after signing a new contract for next season.

The official length, as with all the others that have signed new contracts, hasn't been revealed but the implication is that it's for next season only at this stage with him telling the official website that he hopes to push on and make more inroads into the first team next season.

'I'm over the moon to get a new contract sorted. I've been working hard and I ended up getting a few substitute appearances last season so now I want to make sure I come back fit and hopefully play some more.

'I thought I did well and made an impact in the games I came on and the manager said as much to me afterwards - but now he's asking for more from me and hopefully I can give it to him.'

After four years at the Vic if Hawkins isn't going to make it into the first team regularly under Coops next season then he never will.

I'd expect him to do just that.
