Cooper Delighted With Response

A fantastic three nil victory over Torquay United last weekend was the perfect response for manager Colin Cooper as we looked to put the loss to Northampton Town behind us.

Goals from Jack Barmby, Luke James and Marlon Harewood gave us the three points on offer, and the gaffer has now called on the team to build on that victory immediately in our next game and get ourselves on a run of back to back victories again.

Speaking to the Official Site following the win that moved us back to within five points of the top seven, Cooper explained.

'We got the response we wanted. Despite the result, it wasn't easy and I knew it wasn't going to be easy. Don't get me wrong though, our three goals were lovely finishes.'

Coops goes on to say that for him Jack's goal wasn't that different from his strike against York, and Luke's goal came from a lovely run that he made and he wasn't in any doubt that Marlon would score when he got himself clear.

Harewood's goal was also the first for the club since he joined us. and Cooper says that the fans are always looking for players 'they can really cling on to' and whilst we have loads of young talent at the club, he feels Harewood at 34 years young could go on to be a really loved cult hero amongst the fans.

What matters now is building on that result again and really getting ourselves back on track because he knows March is key for us and we have so many tough fixtures to approach, but if we do it as we approached this game he feels we'll more than get the results we want.

This site is looking for bloggers, so if a fan can offer us a genuine opinion from someone that supports them we would love to share it with the masses!
