'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Credit To Coops

We're not on a good run of form at the moment but I'd still like to go on record for praising Coops for what he's done since he came to the Vic last summer.

It always takes time for a new manager to make his mark and with much needing changing at the club it was likely to take a little longer. We've still got work to do but I think Coops, and Craig Hignett, are turning things around nicely and given another year or so I think they'll have us almost exactly where they want us.

A lot would depend on how many of the exciting young players we're able to keep though? If we can keep a good amount of them with the last remaining few that Coops might want to get rid of going I think we're in for some exciting times ahead under his management.

We might be without a win in seven, and the run might be slightly reminiscent of the start of the season, but the spell between when worries of another relegation were removed maybe raised expectation a little too much perhaps? I want us back in League 1, and higher, but if we can be around the midtable area when the season ends I think that'll mean Coops has done a very good job.

It's certainly not a time to be worrying too much at our form and questioning the manager, he looks like being the best one we've had in a while that'll firstly steady the ship and then plot a course forward. His record with younger players will always mean that he, and Hignett, will spot one and give them the chance.

Sometimes we'll have to concede that we have to sell some players, as bigger clubs will offer what we can't but I'd be confident that enough could be reinvested to help us find the next with a nice conveyor belt at the Vic being seen.
