Cooper Seeking Home Comforts
What a week it was for Hartlepool last week, culminating in another impressive result on Saturday.
This started with a great 4-1 win at Mansfield a little over a week ago as Pools ended an unbeaten league two run by the Stags.
Next up we went to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and won 1-0.
Finally, on Saturday, we went to St James Park to take on promotion chasing Exeter and recorded another impressive win as we came away with the points after a 3-0 win.
Eight goals, one conceded six points in league two and a place in the quarter finals of the JPT wasn't a bad return at all was it!
Now to turn this into home form at Victoria Park...
That's definitely the aim for Colin Cooper now, he told BBC Tees: 'My job now is to see if setting up different at home gives us more opportunities than away.
'I think we're good enough to create chances against any team, what we have to be is solid out of possession and I think we've been that in three away games this week.'
Pressure is always greater when you play in front of you home crowd, as the expectancy levels can rise and sometimes dealing with this isn't easy.
At the same time confidence does play a big part and we should now be full of this following a hat-trick of wins in a week so lets hope this momentum can be taken forward to the next game at Victoria Park!
I do think that a corner has been turned though, we made a horrendous start to the season winning just once in the first seven games but with just one defeat in the last five I think Cooper is right that we're good enough to create chances against any side, it's just a case of taking them...
