Defender Darren Holden Pens New Contract

Hartlepool United have handed a new contract to young defender Darren Holden.

The left back has featured 11 times for the club this season and has impressed manager John Hughes enough to earn a new deal.

Holden, 19, has made 15 appearances in total since being handed his debut by former boss Mick Wadsworth in a game against Tranmere Rovers in April 2011.

Oh joyous day
smokin joe
What I have seen of him so far, if he is the future, and the start of the rebuild for next season, then all I can say is this...god help us

Spot on Leeds poolie he's ok going forward and second to none at crossing a ball but his job is defending and he's been exposed every time he's played and let's be fair the coaching down there is not going to improve him

When me and the old man saw him for the first time, both said 'winger'. must be converted sooner rather than later. otherwise he'll end up doing a Matty Robson, get binned and come back to plough us on a bi-annual basis.
