Neale Cooper Returns To Work With Ross County

Former Hartlepool United manager Neale Cooper is back in a job after joining Scottish Premier League side Ross County as assistant manager.

Cooper has joined the coaching staff at Dingwall and will assist manager Derek Adams. His first game in the dugout will be tomorrow as the Staggies face Dundee United.

Cooper spent six seasons at the club between 1996 and 2002, guiding Ross County to two promotions. He re-joins with the club sitting tenth in the SPL table.

Derek Adams said he was delighted to get Cooper, who was his manager during his time as a player, on board.

''We've got an extremely small staff here at Ross County, and it is therefore vital that we have a structure in place and have the right people in place to take the players, team and indeed the club forward.

''Neale is someone that I`ve known for a number of years and having had him join us for a couple of days of training it was obvious his qualities complemented what we already had in place here, so I`m delighted that he`s agreed to join us.''

Cooper resigned from his position at Hartlepool at the end of October with the club bottom of League One.

Good luck Coops, you deserve every success following your unselfish gesture of falling on your sword at Pools. OK, so you made mistakes during your 2nd spell here - but you were working under untenable conditions where any self-respecting manager would struggle. I for one am confident that your career will flourish once again at a 'normal' football club.

Good luck Neale, hope things turn out a bit better for you back north of the border than they did here at Pools.
