Phil Brown Talks With Hartlepool Collapse

Phil Brown's potential move to Hartlepool United is dead after talks between the two parties sensationally collapsed this afternoon.

Brown had apparently been on the brink of taking charge at the club where he spent seven years as a player between 1978 and 1985, but talks broke down this afternoon.

It is currently not known what caused the breakdown between Brown and HUFC.

Hartlepool United have since confirmed the appointment of Livingston manager John Hughes as the new first team coach at Victoria Park.

'It is currently not known what caused the breakdown between Brown and HUFC' No and it likely will never be known as Pohl Pot Hodcroft's cloaking device effectively suffocates the facts surrounding the latest public humiliation of our once-proud little club. At least Phil Brown should not be stifled by any secrecy agreement and will hopefully explain all and in doing so hopefully expose the limited 'ambition' KH and IOR to the media.

I would be willing to bet good money that it's because we didn't want to fork out for pay-offs for Micky and Ritchie (you know, those two "club men" who were responsible along with Cooper for us cocking up the first third of the season so badly) and actually bring in a full new coaching staff who might have brought some new ideas to the table instead of the clueless muddle we've endured for the last three months. The word farce springs to mind...

maybe the free sunbed wasnt on offer - but ex players and managers returning to the club maybe had an influence !!!
