Gordon Watson Applies For Hartlepool Job

Former Hartlepool United striker Gordon Watson is among the applicants for the vacant role of manager at Victoria Park but his chances of the job appear slim.

The striker, who spent two years at the club between 2001 and 2003, has submitted a job application for the position vacated by Neale Cooper last month but has yet to receive a response from anyone at the club.

Watson said on Twitter that he was interested in the job but that he has yet to hear back from the club where he ended his career.

''I left bundles of messages and missed calls to invite a meet, no response at all...'' he said on the social networking site.
