Phil Brown Eyes Pools Job After Visit To The Vic

Phil Brown was in the stands to watch Hartlepool's game with Tranmere Rovers last night, heightening speculation linking him to the vacant managers position at the club.

Brown took his place in the stands to watch table-topping Tranmere triumph over his potential new club. Goals from Andy Robinson and Cole Stockton sealed a win 2-0 for the Merseyside club.

The former Hull manager has been strongly linked with the Victoria Park role, with his name thought to be high on IOR's shortlist for the position.

Fellow candidates Colin Cooper and Craig Short were also in attendance at the game, with Pools now set to decide between the contenders.
