Hartlepool Reserves Lose At Oldham

Hartlepool Reserves are still without a win this season after going down against Oldham Athletic.

A strong Pools side contained first team faces Simon Walton, Luke James and Ritchie Humphreys and took an early lead when James forced a save from the Latics keeper before Humphreys slotted home the rebound.

But the lead didn't last as the home side pounced on a mistake in the middle of the park and David Mellor struck from the edge of the area to level the scores.

Trialist Joe Tait started the game for Pools and could have scored before the break, but his effort was well saved, as were chances for Simon Walton and Nathan Luscombe.

The home side grabbed what turned out to be the winner at the start of the second half as Chris Sutherland dribbled his way through the Pools defence and sent the ball past a helpless Adam McHugh.
