Hartlepool Look At Ex-Boro Starlet Nathan Porritt
Hartlepool United have taken former Middlesbrough midfielder Nathan Porritt on trial.
Porritt started Pools' reserve team friendly with Bishop Auckland on Wednesday evening and Neale Cooper will monitor the player's progress in the coming days.
Once touted as the next big thing after emerging through Boro's youth system, Porritt's career stalled and his contract at the Riverside was terminated in February 2010.
A move to Belgium to play for Olympic de Charleroi-Marchienne failed to reignite his career and Porritt has most recently had spells at Norton & Stockton Ancients and Stokesley Sports Club in the Northern League.
22-year-old Porritt actually played against Hartlepool last week, featuring in Whitby Town's team that held Pools to a 1-1 draw at the Turnbull Ground.
