'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Adam Boyd Issues Come and Get Me Plea To Gateshead

Former Hartlepool United striker Adam Boyd has issued a 'come and get me' plea to north-east rivals Gateshead as he continues his search for a new club.

Boyd was released from his hometown club earlier this month and is already on the hunt for a new club, with the Tyneside club an option for the forward.

''Gateshead would definitely be an option. Not just because of the location, but the way they play football as well.

''I know the assistant boss, Terry Mitchell, from his time at Hartlepool and he's a lovely guy. So Gateshead would be a good option.''

Boyd scored 79 goals in 273 games over two separate spells for Hartlepool, but had struggled to hold down a place in the first team since his return to the club in 2009.

''I'll see if people contact me, if not then I'll start pursuing contacts. But I'll just see what offers come in and weigh them up on merit.'' he told the Mail.
