Baldwin Pens Long Term Deal With Hartlepool
Hartlepool United youngster Jack Baldwin has committed himself to the club by signing a new improved contract at Victoria Park.
The youngster was plucked from the non-league by former boss Mick Wadsworth last summer and has been a huge hit at the club, starting 14 first team fixtures this season.
Now, Baldwin has signed a new improved contract which will keep him at the club into next season.
I think coming from down south and wondering what everyone is going to think of you, it was quite nerve-wracking but now I know for sure that I am wanted in the future and it put your mind at rest and you feel more relaxed when you're playing.'' Baldwin told the club's official site.
''I can't really describe how much I've enjoyed being here over the past season - everything involved with being a footballer from going out to the local schools to getting on the pitch.''
Having joined the club from Faversham Town, where he regularly played in front of crowds of 200, he admitted Saturday's game at Charlton was a great experience.
''As an 18-year-old to walk out in front of 27,000 at Charlton on Saturday, it was just surreal and a great day to be involved with.
''Even at the end it was unbelievable and when the Charlton fans started singing 'Hartlepool' I think it showed up everything good about football.''
