Paul Murray Targets Win At 'Unhappy' Preston

Hartlepool United midfielder Paul Murray says his side can take advantage of rifts in the Preston camp when they travel to Deepdale tonight.

Murray, who lives in the city, says that new Preston manager Graham Westley has ruffled a few feathers since his arrival last month.

''I have lived in Preston for 10 years so I've got plenty of neighbours who are fans.

''But I don't know what the gaffer is going to do. I don't know whether the situation has changed now and I can play back-to-back games, I'd like to think so because I'm feeling good, but that's up to the gaffer.''

Westley has stripped Paul Coutts of the captaincy and criticised a number of players since his arrival from Stevenage and Murray says Pools can take advantage of the rifts in the camp.

''The stuff coming out of Preston is not great with how unhappy they are. We've all seen the text messages that have been going on and there's other stuff.

''I've spoken to a few people in the club and they're not happy, the players. It's probably a good time to play them.

''Some of the players they have brought in aren't Preston players. I've played against a few of them in League Two and they weren't great there - that's my opinion. Preston are a big club.

''Maybe it will turn around for them, but we've got to take advantage because it's not a happy camp there.''
he told the Northern Echo.
