Pools Remain 14th But Gap Between Bottom Four Cut
Hartlepool remain 14th in League One after today's round of fixtures that excluded 14 teams, but only four points separate them from the drop zone.
Pools' fixture with Huddersfield Town was called off due to the Terriers commitments in the FA Cup, leaving Pools with further game in hands. And the ten teams that did manage to feature reduced the day light Pols had had between themselves and the bottom four.
Walsall produced a shock of the season, Dean Smith's men wiping the form table clean with a resounding 6-1 win over 22nd placed Bristol Rovers. Yeovil beat Brentford 2-1 reducing the previous 6 point bridge between Pools and the drop zone to 4.
But, there is still only 6 points between Pools and the play-off places ahead of the game against Oldham on Tuesday.
