Pools Reserves Knocked Out By Scunthorpe

Hartlepool United Reserves were knocked out of the Totesport Cup after losing to their Scunthorpe counterparts at Billingham today.

Pools named a strong side but were two goals down within 15 minutes as Garry Thompson put Scunny ahead and Matthew Sparrow doubled the lead shortly afterwards with a well taken finish.

Ben Clark's penalty gave Pools hope of a comeback after Billy Greulich was fouled in the box but it wasn't to be as the reserves fell to their second defeat in 2 matches and out of the Totesport Cup.
