New Boy Haslam Delighted With Pools Switch

Hartlepool United's latest signing, Steve Haslam has expressed his delight at moving the step up to League One.

The defender signed for Pools yesterday afternoon and he admits he was thrilled to sign for the club ''It's a no brainer when a League One club comes in for you.

''I'm very ambitious and want to play as high as I can and achieve things in my career. I feel fine for MK Dons. I played last week, trained all week so I'm all ready to go.''

He told the Echo that after playing as a trialist in the game against Mansfield last weekend he was pleased to get a chance to impress ''I turned up at Mansfield and there was an opportunity there for me to play well.

''It's been nice to have a period where I've got to know the lads so I'm ready to get playing. In the last few years I've settled into right-back predominantly but I've played all across the back four and in midfield.''
