Can Pools Avoid The Drop?
Hartlepool United made big progress in their battle for safety after picking up 7 points in the last 3 games.
Pools beat both Swindon and Tranmere along with a credible draw at Colchester to move 10 points away from the drop zone. Two penalties from Ben Clark and two Michael Nelson goals helped put a 10 point gap between Pools and the bottom 4.
In our forum, user SupaStix2 thinks Pools need 54 points to be guaranteed safety ''The last time we finished with 51 points we were relegated. 54 points minimum.
Of course it's not absolute and depends entirely on other results. We're not out of the woods yet, but I'm feeling a lot more optimistic.''
Fellow user Old Poolie agreed and said that the 4 points away from home were vital ''A great result, and 4 points on the road in the week, which I doubt any of us would have forecast after the abismal performance last week against Orient.''
