Sweeney: 'I Could Have Walked Away'
Hartlepool United midfielder Antony Sweeney has admitted that he could of walked away from the club if the situation regarding his contract hadn't changed.
Sweeney signed a new deal after months of negotiations despite being placed on the transfer list ''I was put on the transfer list earlier in the season I knew the reasons for it.''
''I'm glad to get it done and dusted and now I can look forward to next season.''
He told the Echo that he could have left the club but that he never wanted that outcome ''I could have walked away from the club for nothing at the end of the season, which would have been disappointing because I came through the youth ranks at the club.''
